Italian guitarist Daniele Salomone has officially joined LACUNA COIL, stepping in as the replacement for longtime guitarist Diego Cavallotti

Salomone shared an exciting update on his Instagram account, posting a photo and a brief clip from the set of LACUNA COIL’s video shoot for the song Oxygen.” Along with the visual teaser, he included the following message: “I’m so grateful to LACUNA COIL for this amazing experience. I’m very honoured to help them. I want to thank a lot Cristina Scabbia, Maki, Andrea Ferro and Richard Meiz (aka Pastafrollo) for trusting me. So yes guys, the Unknown Man, it’s me …”

Salomone made his live debut with LACUNA COIL on August 4, performing at the Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Râșnov, Romania, making a significant impression and marking a significant milestone for the band and fans alike.LACUNA COIL Daniele for postsWhen LACUNA COIL announced guitarist Diego Cavallotti leaving the band back in June, the group wrote in a statement: “As we step into a new cycle, writing and recording our next album, we are parting ways with Diego ‘DD’ Cavallotti. We thank him for the many unforgettable moments shared over the years and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours. All future live plans remain unchanged and the new songs are taking form, we can’t wait to share them with our fans.”

Interestingly, Cavallotti and Salomone were no strangers to each other before this switch. Both guitarists played together in the Italian metal band Inverno. LACUNA is gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated tenth studio album, Sleepless Empire, dropping on February 14, 2025 via Century Media RecordsSleepless Empire will be the band’s first collection of new material since 2019’s Black Anima.LACUNA COIL albumWhat makes Sleepless Empire even more intriguing are the guest appearances from two highly acclaimed vocalists: Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God, who lends his brutal voice to the track Hosting The Shadow, and Ash Costello of New Years Day, who features on In The Mean Time, adding a dynamic flair to the album’s diverse soundscape.
